The Oda Divisional police Command is on a manhunt for one KWABENA ANKOMAH, a Ghanaian living in the diaspora Who touts him self as ”Chief” of Akyem Ntoronang using the name Nana Yamoah Ponkor Ababio II.
This was after he failed to comply with a ruling by the Oda High Court.
A red alert has therefore been issued to Interpol to arrest and deport him to Ghana to face the law.
The accused, together with the Queen mother of Akyem Ntoronang, NANA ANYAMAH KYEREWAA II and 8 others were found guilty to have been in contempt with the Oda High Court in a suit by NANA ASIEDU AKORA II, the gazetted Chief of Akyem Ntoronang in the Birem North District in the Eastern Region and was thus convicted as such.
The presiding Judge on Thursday, 19th March, 2020 sentenced all ten to a fine of two thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢ 2000.00) each and ordered that they sign a bond to be of Good behaviour for two years.
In the case of KWABENA ANKOMAH and NANA ANYAMAH KYEREWAA II, the Court further asked them not to carry themselves as Chief and Queen of Akyem Ntoronang respectively and also barred them from entering the Palace or even going closer to it.
But five good months after the ruling, all except KWABENA ANKOMAH has executed the bond. The Court finds his actions to be disrespectful and has thus issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

Reacting to the new development, NANA ASIEDU AKORA II Who have always expressed trust in Ghana’s Judicial system said it was yet another win for the good people of Akyem Ntoronang and the Traditional Authority in the country as a whole. Saying the Court has once again affirmed that He is the true and only occupant of the Akyem Ntoronang stool.
He believes it will serve as deterrent to people Who uses all violent means available to claim stools from their rightful heirs or occupants and Curb litigations that characterises enstoolment of chiefs in the country which negatively affects development.
He further urged Residents of Akyem Ntoronang to unite behind him and do away with persons and act that can destabilize the town.
