MAN WHO INVENTED ’BANKU TA’(WOODEN SPATULA) TO BE HONORED…

A 90 year old Paul Kingsley Asamoah will be honored by the people of his community for inventing Wooden Spatula popularly known as ‘’bankuta’’ in 1944 and ceiling brush 1986 at Kona in the Ashanti Region.

The event is likely to honor Kingsley Asamoah for the inventions and also a tool that creates jobs and reduces unemployment in the community for so many years.

Speaking to the organizer of the event Sylvester Owusu Adjei (Papa Yaw) on Accra base Kingdom FM, he said the youth and the elders of Kona decision to celebrate and honor Mr. Kingsley is a step in the right direction, adding inventing of ‘’wooden spatula’’ (Banku ta) and ceiling brush has helped the youth in the town in terms of jobs.

According to him, legends are to be celebrated when they are alive and not when they are dead and gone.

‘’we have to celebrate the living not the dead so they can enjoy their labor’’ he said

BANKU TA: ‘stick’ is used to stir banku to give it that fine texture called WOODEN SPATULA. There are different types of wooden spatulas used in many ways for different purposes.

He explained the event will take place this coming Sunday 2pm at Kona social center in the Ashanti region. Member of Parliament for the Area, the chief and elders of the community will be present to honor the occasion he said.

He therefore urged the youth and the people of Kona to come together to celebrate and honor Mr Kingsley.
